Content Research
The majority vote was to have the title be "The Wave". I think this Is because it is more on the simplistic side and it still gets the point across that the magazine is based around the beach.
People preferred to see a location on the cover instead of a model, however there was still a lot of support for the model, so I will combine them both. I will use a model in one of the locations I would potentially talk about in my double page spread.
The votes for what gender the cover model should be were in favor of a female, however only by 7.3%. I will include both a male and female model since a lot of people did still want to see both and that way a female is still included regardless.
A simple white font won for text options. I really think this choice will be a good fit for my magazine because it goes will with the minimalist feel I am hoping to give off to the readers. A white font will also fit better with whatever image is on the cover and won't distract as much, as opposed to a hot pink or purple one.
People really wanted to see adds for bikinis in the magazine. However if I cannot find a cool way to create an advertisement for them, I will instead made an add for sunscreen. In addition I could make a monthly beach essentials kit to advertise as well and include an item from each of the categories since all of them did still get votes.
The "Whats in my beach bag" and "Best spots to visit in South Florida" won which I was very excited about because I already had a lot of ideas for content under those topics. I think I will also include an advertisement event though it placed last because a lot of people did seem excited about it in the advertisement poll and I think it will be relatively easy to create.

Narrative Sound Project
audio file-https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7CW7eL-J7bU
In this project we were asked to create a story only using sounds. The goal was to be able to guess what was going on even though there was no visual elements, only audio. Me, Maliha, Charleey and Isaac decided we wanted to record a scene about bullying. The scene starts off with someone walking to their locker opening it, and then a bully yelling at them. They run away and are chased before finally being caught and beat up.
By creating a storyline only using sounds, the audience is really forced to pay attention to what's going on and they are also given more creative freedom of their own as they are allowed to create images in their find of the plot, characters and other events going on. An only sound based film has the similar effect too if someone was to read a book as it allows the audience member to know what's going on but create their own version of the story visually.
For a majority of the sounds used in our film, we were able to use the actual objects themselves to make the sound we wanted. For example for our character opening and shutting the locker door, we were just able to use a real locker door and use the audio from that. We had a lot of running and walking noises in our film also which were super easy to make as all we needed to do was hold the microphone to one of us actually running or walking.
One sound element we didn't create ourselves though was the bell ringing indicating the changing of classes. However we were allowed to use automated sounds, we just had to minimize them. We did a good job of creating most of our own sounds though because the bell was the only sound we didn't make ourselves.
The hardest sound that we struggled to make was the punching noise. We obviously didn't want to really beat someone up, so we had to come up with a creative and safe way to make a realistic punching sound. We found a couch and decided to hit it and test to see if the sound was realistic. It was very similar but not quite exactly what we were looking for, however we realized that during the editing process we could layer the sound repeatedly to make it a string of punches which matched the sound the couch made better.
